Grief

     God speaks to us in our joy but shouts to us in our grief.

I Am Enough for thee

"Through each day the Lord pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing His songs, praying to God who gives me life. 'O God my rock,'  I cry,  'Why have you forsaken me? Why must I wander in darkness, oppressed by my enemies?"   -Psalm 42:8-9 NLT

Thou hast not that, but thou hast Me
Though Thy heart longs for earth's security
I'm calling Thee above, beyond, away
Unto a place of rest in only Me

Thou hast not that, but thou has Me
And I call "Come, your every need will be
Met by My Love, so great it cannot fail
And perfect peace when thy heart's staid on Me

Then when the storms of life upon thee beat
And all thy world is crumbling neath thy feet
When naught of earth's security exists
Thy heart in Me will find it's safe retreat

And even now when all in darkness be
When all thou hast is pain and poverty
Wilt thou yet prove to this thy world around
That thou hast all when thou hast Me?
                                             -Rachael Lofgren

Prove to your world that Jesus is enough!!!

 "Cast Thy burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain thee."

"Thou wilt keep Him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee."

God Will Deliver

"Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear; rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them. He has kept you hitherto - do you but hold fast His dear hand, and He will lead you safely through all things; and, when you cannot stand, He will bear you in His arms.
Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations."    - Saint Francis De Sales

 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Hope Through Me

The other day this poem really ministered to my heart as I prayed for straying loved ones.
When we cannot see any progress, when our hearts feel on the verge of breaking with the pain and frustration caused by a wayward loved one,  when we simply feel like giving up because it seems impossible may this become our prayer for where we cannot, HE CAN!

Hope Through Me

Hope through me, God of hope
Or never can I know
Deep wells and living streams of hope,
And pools of overflow.

Flood me with hope today
For souls perverse, undone,
For sinful souls that turn away,
Blind sunflowers, from their Sun.

O blessed Hope of God,
Flow through me patiently,
Until I hope for everyone
As Thou hast hoped for me.

But God

BUT GOD
  I know not, but God knows;
Oh, blessed rest from fear!
All my unfolding days
To Him are plain and clear.

Each anxious, puzzled "Why?"
From doubt or dread that grows,
Finds answer in this thought;
I know not, but He knows.

I cannot, but God can;
Oh, balm for all my care!
The burden that I drop
His hand will lift and bear,

Though eagle pinions tire --
I walk where once I ran --
This is my strength, to know
I cannot, but God can.

I see not, but God sees;
Oh, all-sufficient light!
My dark and hidden way
To Him is always bright.

My strained and peering eyes
May close in restful ease,
And I in peace may sleep;
I see not, but He sees.

by Annie Johnson Flint

Ps. 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou
art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

This poem was brought to mind this morning and it seems so fitting for some of the dark circumstances life has brought this past year and the past month.  It is such a comfort to know that HE KNOWS! Life is hard BUT GOD is good. Life sometimes seems impossibly painful BUT GOD is working, comforting, pruning and beautifying. There is purpose in this pain and the time of life after death will come again.  For He has promised it will be so. (He doth prune that we may bring forth much fruit.) May each of you find HIM ENOUGH today and always. Because HE lives we can face tomorrow and because He lives we need no longer fear but rest in His love for HE is able and His promises are sure.

Look Up

"The truth is, a kernel of wheat must be planted in the soil. Unless it dies it will be alone-a single seed, But it's death will produce many new kernels- a plentiful harvest of new lives.  Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who despise their life in this world will keep it for eternal life."  John  12:24-25 NLT

Let go and let God though the pain seems unceasing
Though the night seems so long and so dark and unknown
For when passing through fire and waves of affliction
Our God is still with you, you're never alone

Let go and let God for He knows what He's doing
To grow and to live one must first yield and die
Remember the winter comes first 'fore the springtime
The  answer of joy cometh after our cry.

Look up and let God for the morning is coming
With your hand in His stand and faithful endure
Keep hope in His love and His promise unfailing
The battle is hard but His victory is sure.

"But now, O Israel, the Lord who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD YOUR GOD, the Holy One of Israel, YOUR SAVIOR."    Isaiah 43:1-3a NLT
